Our Inspiring Nominations

St Peter's Hospice

St Peter's Hospice provides compassionate care for adults with life-limiting illnesses in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. They focus on enhancing the quality of life for patients while supporting their families. All services offered by the hospice are free of charge, ensuring that everyone receives the care they need.

Frome Falcons

Frome Falcons urgently requires financial assistance to maintain their training sessions for children and adults with disabilities. This mixed-gender, mixed-age sport allows those with conditions such as cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy to engage in football. For many participants, it offers a unique opportunity to play an active team sport. They play 4v4 in a sports hall, utilizing their chairs to pass, tackle, and score.

Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary

Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary is a charity dedicated to rescuing and rehoming unwanted cats and dogs. Operating independently, they do not receive government funding and depend entirely on the kindness of supporters. Each year, they are responsible for rescuing and rehoming around 800 animals, providing them with a second chance at life.

People Against Poverty

People Against Poverty is a global movement aimed at alleviating poverty both in the UK and worldwide. They partner with local organizations to help individuals find paths out of poverty. This includes delivering projects focused on self-sufficiency and creating lasting impact. For instance, they provide fresh food through local food banks and support people in securing employment. Their "Back to Work" project assists individuals with resources such as job clubs and networking opportunities, improving their chances of finding stable work.

Great Western Air Ambulance

Great Western Air Ambulance Charity plays a crucial role in delivering life-saving treatment to those suffering from severe illnesses and injuries. Their team consists of expert clinicians committed to providing the best care possible. However, they rely heavily on the generosity of local communities to continue their vital work. They are profoundly grateful for this support.

Cots for Tots

Cots for Tots is specifically dedicated to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael’s Hospital. Founded in 2010, they garnered considerable support, creating a vast network of fundraisers. Their mission is straightforward: to ensure that every sick or premature baby in the South West receives exceptional care, 365 days a year.

Made a Mark

Made a Mark provides memory boxes and supportive materials to hospitals and hospices in England. These boxes serve children who experience the loss of a parent or sibling. The charity is currently seeking items for their memory boxes. While their Amazon wish list offers a convenient way to donate, purchasing directly from publishers can significantly stretch the value of donations.

Wales Air Ambulance

The Wales Air Ambulance stands ready to respond to emergencies across Wales. This service would not be sustainable without the ongoing support of the community. Their commitment is unwavering, and they continually strive to improve their life-saving services. They have built one of the largest and most medically advanced air ambulance services in the UK over the past 24 years.

Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue

Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue is dedicated to rescuing, fostering, and rehoming hundreds of cats throughout the South West and Wales. They focus on providing a safe haven for cats that have faced neglect or abandonment. Operated by a small group of volunteers, the charity relies entirely on donations, with every penny supporting the cats in their care. Despite their efforts, they currently face a debt of £5,000 to local vets.
