Standing With Giants The Home Coming

The outward jourbey was popular with the Chapter but due to timescales and other commitments we are unable to support as a chapter vent, however if you would like to attend then please accept RSVP and you can attend as a group under GYOW guidance. Once we know numbers we can advise the organiser.

‘’Standing With Giants’’ Ride Out – ‘’The Home Coming’’ - Saturday 14th September 2024

As you might of heard our amazing ‘’Standing With Giants’’ are heading home and will land in Portsmouth on Saturday 14th September and, as in April we’re going to assist them to get to Stowe Gardens in Buckinghamshire. The display will be re-erected there until mid-November.

We’ll meet the Standing with Giants crew and trucks @ Serpentine Road, Portsmouth  ( near to the D Day Story venue ) from 9.30am as they will have just got off the overnight ferry from France.

The attendance of the Mayor and Mayoress, local press, Portsmouth groups like the Veterans, Scouts and WI have all pledged their support and will be waving us off. Our friends from Fort Nelson who we met in April are going to pop down as well. With all this going on and more to come we're heading towards a 10.15amRiders Briefing and a Departure time of 10.30am.

We’ll ride with the Trucks - Jason and the boys (Flegg Projects & Installation Services) as in April - So it's M27 / M3 / A34 Newbury / Oxford and Buckingham and Stowe. We're looking to have a little break at Moto Cherwell Services - off the M40 before heading to Buckingham and Stowe Gardens. If our current calculations are correct we should be @ Stowe for around 1.30 / 1.45pm – where more entertainment and photographs are planned.

We appreciate that this is a late call and there's lots going on HOG Chapter wise but we would be grateful if you could spread the word. We really set the bar high in April !

Now for those not riding you’re more than welcome to come down to either Serpentine Road or the Corinthian Arch @ Stowe Gardens. It would be great to meet you all and get some pictures with both the bikes, Trucks and yourselves.

Now the next item is to sort the weather out. It wasn’t brilliant in June 1944 but…
