Normandy 80

The Black Mountains Chapter are arranging an event to link in with the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings and have extended an invitation to all UK Chapters to support. GWC will be attending this event as an official chapter event, full details can be found on this link

Updated 13 March. . Over 280 bikes are attending please read the following.

1. GWC will meet Bridgewater Chapter at the Burger van , on A46 300 yards north of the Tormaton M4 Junction.

2. We will move off from here and travel to arrive at Leigh Delamare services Petrol Station by 09:45. 

3. At Leigh Delamare all bikes need to have a full tank so they can make the journey to Portsmouth with no fuel stops.  With so many bikes involved the organisers have asked that we minimise fuel stops so that only sportsters stop for fuel .

4, From Leigh Delamare  Black Mountains Chapter will lead the ride with the familiar second man drop system.

Clothing / Pins / Patches

Pins and Patches are being manufactured as we speak and should be available soon, will share the links once we get close to receiving them in Swansea.

Probable costs going to be £10 each plus a bit of P&P – and again all profits will go to SWG.

T shirts and Hoodies

The event breaks down to 3 elements

1. Ride 1 . GWC to join other chapters to ride up to Abingdon and meet at the main assembly point

2. Ride 2 . Mass ride to Portsmouth escorting the Lorry/Lorries carrying the Art installation .  

3, Option to go over to Caen.  It should be noted that around the anniversary dates accomadation can be difficult to find and if you wish to cross to Caen that you book your accomadation ASAP. 

We will be attending the first 2 elements of the event before riding back home.
