About the event
This is a Chapter-Members-Only event.
Meet at Chippenham Services (SN14 6UY) 09:00 for a 09:30 departure.
The plan for this month’s Rideout is to see the amazing sites of the New Forest.
The Forest is National Park covering 220 sq miles. It was used by Royalty as their Hunting Ground
King William Rufus was killed after being struck by a wayward arrow in a hunting accident in the Royal Forest. His brother Henry then made himself King after securing all William's wealth
The Forest is also famous for its Ponies. It is believed they have been in the forest since the ice age.
We will be riding through part of Salisbury Plain
and some excellent roads through the New Forest including the Ornamental Drive. There will be a chance to ride Zig Zag Hill on the return journey
The ride will start at the Chippenham services SN14 6UY. Meet 9.30am for 10am departure. There is fuel at the meeting point.
The ride is a decent length for the time of year of about 140 miles on good A, B and C road. Comfort breaks, fuel and a lunch stop in the village of Brockenhurst are all factored in to the ride.
The ride will end at Warminster Services
This is classed as a Level C ride.
